In this unit, we will look at those writing s and documents that help America to come to a national identity for the  first time. The country is trying to decide who we are and the rest of the world is watching as some new concepts and philosophies are being put into practice. This is a time of revolution, identity. and defiining what an American is. The literature of the time develops a national pride and unity in a way no country on earth has ever seen before.
